Because its impressive reddish canyons, desert landscapes, and legendary mountains offer a unique adventure blending nature, history, and movie-like scenery.

We depart by jeep at 9:00 a.m. heading north to admire large, eroded sandstone rocks in varying shades—a true wild "Tupiza Wild West," densely populated with cacti and palquis that lead us to the famous "Poronga," a unique phallic natural monument standing around 50 meters high, where we will take a HIKE.

We get back into the jeep and head south to the stables where the HORSES await to begin the ride toward Palmira Ravine (Quebrada de Palmira). Here, we will discover Puerta del Diablo—a fantastic rock formation resembling a gigantic, narrow archway set against an immense reddish wall—and Valle de los Machos, known for its unique phallic rock formations, until reaching the far end where Inca Canyon lies, a beautiful mountain gorge. During the walk in this area, you can observe petroglyphs from the ancient Chichas culture.

After the horseback ride, we get back into the jeep and head toward Quebrada Seca, a long canyon where you can admire multicolored rock formations and a variety of cacti all along the route. At the entrance of the ravine lies Goblin Canyon (Cañón del Duende), one of the most impressive highlights consisting of cliffs and conglomerate rocks; we will WALK through its interior as it winds through stunning mountain formations.

We will make a stop to enjoy a box lunch.

We will continue by jeep to the end of the ravine to arrive at Toroyoj, located 12 km away—a recreational spot with sharp stone formations and the waters of the San Juan del Oro River flowing at its base, famous for its headwaters containing gold deposits. Afterward, we will visit the Toroyoj viewpoint to appreciate the landscape of the Chicheño valley. From the top of the viewpoint, we return by BICYCLE, descending toward Quebrada Seca. You can cycle all the way to Tupiza or as far as your endurance allows. The support vehicle will follow closely behind the bicycles at all times for safety, ready to assist whenever tourists wish to return to the vehicle.

Return to the Tupiza Tours offices at approximately 4:00 p.m.
